SHE/HER — CLINICAL THERAPIST
Hi there, Bienvenido! Let me introduce myself: I am a Queer Latina, anti-oppressive, abolitionist and first-generation Puerto Rican therapist. Born and raised in Humboldt Park Chicago, where I have worked for years alongside different communities throughout the city providing supports such as obtaining food, clothing, navigating systems, housing, advocating, and of course, providing therapeutic services for youth, families and young adults. I have a deep passion for supporting intergenerational Spanish speaking families, domestic violence survivors, LGBTQ+ folks, people exploring new parts of their identities, as well as parents navigating changes and in need of support.
Outside of my work identity, I have an 8 year old bulldog who runs the home! I find joy being in nature, hiking, engaging in art and community, indulging in plenty of foods, dancing, as well as spending time with my loved ones.
Therapy isn’t just about addressing what’s “wrong” or treating yourself like a project- it’s also about honoring what’s going right, honoring our past selves and meeting yourself where you’re at rather than focus solely on where you prefer to be. In the space I offer, we’ll use your strengths as a foundation to build confidence, motivation and a healthier mindset to be able to show up for yourself when needed. I will always offer authenticity and empathy as my main tools to build comfort, in hopes to invite vulnerability from a client. My goal is to create a space for relational healing, practice radical acceptance, as well as personal growth in areas we may feel “stuck” in, through a non-directive space via different modalities depending on a client’s needs. Our work together will be a collaborative and empowering journey with insight, challenges and humor to make the hard moments feel a little lighter!
