Hinterlands Electives
Healing requires community, creativity, and inspiration. Our therapy electives are meant to supplement your process. Electives are non-clinical activities, workshops, social events, and skill-shares meant to support practical skill development, community-building, and joy during your healing process.

Types of Therapy Electives
Non-Clinical Activities: Gentle, structured gatherings that invite participation in therapeutic practices such as gardening, fiber arts, art-making, and more. These activities are designed to soothe the nervous system, foster presence, and provide accessible ways to build community.
Workshops: Short-term, focused learning spaces on topics like nervous system regulation, boundary setting, grief rituals, and harm reduction. Facilitated by therapists, peer specialists, or community educators, these mental health workshops offer practical tools you can apply in everyday life.
Social Events: Connection is part of healing. From casual hangouts to creative showcases, these events create opportunities for authentic, low-pressure socialization. You don’t need to be “doing well” to show up—just come as you are.
Skill Shares: Knowledge-sharing meets collective care. Skill shares might include zine-making, herbalism, communication practices, or navigating systems like healthcare or housing. Led by therapists and community members, these skill shares honor lived wisdom as essential to healing.
