THEY/SHE — CLINICAL THERAPIST

I am an art therapist who values community, autonomy, safety, collaboration, and authenticity. Art therapy emphasizes the process and not the product of creation. This makes it naturally aligned with mindfulness and somatic therapies, which cultivate a present moment awareness. So much can be learned through “bottoms up” learning, via sight, sound, touch, movement, smell, and taste. Although these personal and bodily ways of knowing can be essential for healing, they are often devalued within our culture. As an art therapist, I aim to tune in to my five senses and encourage others to do the same. Together, we create spaces where taste, fun, creation, and flow are honored.

I also provide talk therapy. Here my orientation is relational-cultural, humanistic, and trauma-informed. I respect you as an expert on your life, relationships, and needs. My job is to provide the space and acceptance for you to speak your truth, notice patterns, and find meaning. Acknowledging dynamics of power, privilege, and oppression is essential for this process.

My clinical areas of interest include: neurodivergence, anxiety, relationships, trauma, parenting, grief, and LGBTQIA2S concerns.
